AI Filters & Effects — 200+ Premium Presets

The filter library is Hypic's flagship feature. Unlike most editing apps that give you 50 slight variations of "warm tone" and call it a day, Hypic organizes its 200+ filters into distinct categories where each preset serves a specific purpose.

Every filter has an intensity slider that goes from 0-100%. I'd recommend keeping it between 40-70% for natural-looking results. Going above 80% tends to make photos look overly processed, which is exactly the look most people are trying to avoid.

AI Background Removal

Tap one button. The AI identifies your subject, traces around it, and removes everything behind it. What remains is your subject on a transparent background, ready to be placed on any background you choose.

The technical side: Hypic uses an on-device neural network that processes the segmentation locally. No internet connection is required, and your photos never leave your device. Processing time ranges from 2 seconds on flagship phones to 7 seconds on budget devices.

Where it excels: Clean edges around human subjects, especially hair. It handles flyaway strands, curly hair, and partially transparent clothing (think: bridal veils) better than most mobile competitors. Product photos with clear outlines also work exceptionally well.

Where it struggles: Complex scenes with subjects blending into similar-colored backgrounds. A person wearing a green shirt standing in front of green foliage will give the AI trouble. Chain-link fences, glass objects, and very fine mesh fabrics are also challenging. For these cases, the manual refinement brush lets you fix edges by hand.

Portrait Retouching Suite

Six tools specifically designed for faces and portraits:

• Skin Smoothing — Reduces blemishes and uneven skin tone while preserving natural texture. Most users should keep this at 30-40% intensity
• Blemish Removal — Tap on individual spots, acne, or marks to remove them. Uses content-aware fill to blend the corrected area naturally
• Teeth Whitening — Targets teeth specifically and brightens them without affecting surrounding areas. Subtle adjustments look best
• Eye Enhancement — Brightens eyes, enhances iris color, and sharpens eye details. Again, restraint produces the most convincing results
• Face Reshaping — Adjustable sliders for jawline, chin, forehead, nose, and eye spacing. These tools are powerful but can easily produce unnatural results if pushed too far
• Makeup Application — Digital application of lipstick, blush, eyeshadow, and contouring. AI detects facial landmarks to apply makeup accurately

AI Art Generator

Upload a photo, choose an art style, and Hypic's AI reinterprets the image as if it were created in that style. Available styles include: watercolor, oil painting, pencil sketch, anime, cyberpunk, pop art, impressionist, abstract, pastel, low-poly, pixel art, and about 20 others.

This feature requires an internet connection because the AI processing happens on cloud servers — the transformation models are too large to run on most phones. Results generate in 5-15 seconds depending on server load and image complexity.

The results are good for social media posts and profile pictures. They're not gallery-quality art — you won't fool anyone into thinking a real artist painted your selfie — but for casual creative use, the quality is surprisingly solid.

Text & Typography

The text system includes 500+ fonts ranging from clean sans-serif to decorative display fonts. Each text element can be customized with:

Select 2-9 photos and choose from 100+ grid layouts. Each photo within the collage can be individually edited with any of Hypic's tools — filters, adjustments, cropping. Borders, spacing, and corner radius are all adjustable. The collage templates are organized by purpose: social media, scrapbook, comparison, timeline, and freeform.

Save your finished photos in multiple formats:

• JPEG — Adjustable quality from 60% to 100%. Lower quality = smaller file. 85% is a good balance for social media
